This production of one of the late masterpieces of Massenet, 'Don
Quichotte', in May 2010 from La Monnaie, was the last great role performed by the feted Belgian baritone, José van Dam.

The recording was made with 25 Schoeps Microphones and a AKG C414 on the Organ. An MSTC5 was used for the ambiance and applaus.
Orchestra
A Decca Tree of MK6 in omni position and a large spaced pair of MK2 were the main microphones for the orchestra. On the woodwinds were also 2 MK2 omni's. French Horns and Tuba had a figure 8. We screwed a PZM on the sealing above a "banda" in the pit côté Jardin.
Stage
On Stage there were 4 cardioide and 2 hypercardioide microphones in a directional boundary configuration and 2 hypercardioide more upstage.
Some off stage orchestra was recorded with a MSTC 5.
